Generate a cut
Here are a few tips to keep in mind when creating a shelf or cut.
Create a new cut:
- Section views are generally created at the zero point of the drawing.
- When saving a cut, it should also be located at the zero point of the drawing, as it will be read back in at exactly that position during import.
- Ensure the shelf cut is actually on the „floor“ so it doesn't float in the drawing.
When the cut is finished editing, select all parts and transfer Store construction –> Create group, form a new cut and give it a name.
Editing a cut:
- Select the cut and make changes directly to the cut.
- It is best to work within the group without dissolving it.
- Do not form too many subgroups, as a summary group will eventually be formed around the intersection.
- If a group must be dissolved, ensure that individual items are not dissolved with it, as this would cause the article information to be lost.
- Section views are generally created at the zero point of the drawing, therefore, please move the section to the drawing's zero point before ungrouping.
When creating a shelf completely from individual parts (without a configurator), it is important at the end to mark all individual parts and then create a group. Store construction –> Create group to be created, so that the shelf cut can be given a name and evaluated as such in the bill of materials.
